William Pollard Holden Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of William Pollard Holden (Mooresville, North Carolina), born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, who passed away on March 21, 2021 at the age of 74. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of William Pollard Holden to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Pollard Holden and Marigrace Halen Holden; his brother Terrence Holden (Terry); and his granddaughter Dagen Ruth Holden. He is survived by: his children, David, Jennifer Holden (Hager) of Davidson, NC, Jeff Holden and Maggie Gardner of Ithaca, NY.; his grandchildren, Maryn, Halen Holden, Augie and Willa Holden; his siblings, Lynne (Peter Pace), Bob Holden of Myrtle Beach, SC, Tom (Joan Holden) and Tracey (Hal Saxby); and his friends, Dominoes, Hearts and Trivial Pursuit. He is also survived by his four nieces and three nephews.

Due to COVID-19, the family will hold a small memorial service on Friday, March 26, 2021 at 5PM in the chapel of Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, 494 East Plaza Drive, Mooresville, NC 28115 http://www.cavin-cook.com.masks are required.

“I am truely saddened by the passing of my life long friend. Always referred to Bill as my best friend. So many happy memories from Charlotte to Ellicott City to Plainview between all the Holdens and Hanrahans. Bill was a great friend and we will sure miss the joy he brought to family and friends. Rest in peace my best friend.”

“So sorry for your loss. Whenever I had to pick a security question that I would recall it would be " Who is your best friend" and of course it was always Bill Holden. Even though we hadn't talked since he left the North I will truely miss my best friend, Bill.”
