He was predeceased by: his siblings, Conrad O. Haire and Mary Martha Oliphant of Margaret Troutman; and his half-sister Mae Waggoner. He is survived by: his wife Eva Johnson Haire; his children, Donna McConnell (Norris) of Mooresville, William "Billy" Haire, Jr. of Mooresville, Cathy Mayfield of Mooresville and Wendell Haire (Susan) of Mooresville; and his sister Patsy Meadows (Franklin) of Mooresville. He is also survived by six grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
