She was predeceased by: her parents, Earl McNeer Archer and Effie Lee Stutts Archer; her husband Ray Gene Childress; and her siblings, U. L. Archer, Ira Lee A. Gryder, Clifford Archer, Margaret A. Ewart, Gladys A. Meadows, Ethel A. Johnson, Ruth A. Barnette and Wilma A. Hardy.
She is survived by: her children, Gerald Childress (Marsha) of Newton and Gina Terry (David) of Mooresville; and her grandchildren, Seth Vanderlip and Baleigh Childress. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
