He is survived by: his children, Todd Hicks (Melinda) of Charlotte, Jamie Hicks (Jaime Mehra) of Atlanta and Tammy Hicks Brietz (Rex) of Charlotte; his grandchildren, Griffin, Cameron Hicks, Haylee Furr, Abigail Hicks, Rex Jr. and Max Brietz; and his brothers, Ned Hicks (Sue) and Rick Hicks (Pat). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
