He was predeceased by: his parents, William Vance Johnson and Edna Vaudrell Gibson Johnson; and his wife Billie Patterson Johnson. He is survived by: his children, David C. Johnson (Yevette), Karen Johnson Wheeler (Dean) and Kathe Johnson French; his grandchildren, Lisa Duncan (Jonathan), Timothy Johnson, Heather Tate (Kasey), Maria Wheeler (Tiffany) and Melissa Wheeler; and his great grandchildren, Cameron Duncan, Jamie Tate, Ella Tate, Harper Tate, Dallas Tate and Brittany Smith. He is also survived by extended family members and dear friends.
A funeral service was held on Sunday, February 9th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Cavin-Cook Chapel (494 E Plaza Dr, Mooresville, NC 28115). A reception was held on Sunday, February 9th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Cavin-Cook Funeral Home ((Hwy 150), 494 E Plaza Dr, Mooresville, NC 28115).
