He was predeceased by: his parents, George Merkel and Norma Tobin Merkel. He is survived by: his wife Karen Samon Merkel; his children, Robyn Zwilinske (Joe), Robert Merkel (Meghan) and Anthony Campisi (Maria); and his grandchildren, Isabella, Madison Zwilinske, Marisa and Anthony Campisi.
