He was predeceased by: his brother John Mazewski. He is survived by: his wife Kathleen "Kathy" Mazewski; his son Max Mazewski; his brother Raymond Mazewski (Jean); and his nephews, Mark, Michael and Craig Mazewski.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to Mooresville Christian Mission or National Kidney Foundation in Richard's honor.
