With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Richard Kemp Spicer of Mooresville, North Carolina, born in Baltimore, Maryland, who passed away on July 20, 2020 at the age of 70. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Abram Spicer and Virginia Kemp Spicer (Lehman); and his sister Vickie Spicer. He is survived by: his wife Marilyn (Mitchell); his son Richard Spicer (Christine); his grandchildren, Ellie, Matthew of Columbia, SC, Penelope and Fiona of Statesville, NC; his great grandchild Max Spicer (Jenna) of Glen Ellyn, IL; and his siblings, John Spicer of Mooresville, NC and Anita Spicer-Lane of Baltimore, MD. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

His professional memberships included the Air Force Association, Special Operations Warrior Foundation, and other service-related organizations.

“It is incredibly sad to hear of Ricks passing. Rick (Richard) Spicer and I were students together at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and in the same Air Force pilot training class in 1972. I have known Rick since 1968 and we have been friends ever since. I last saw Rick at our 40th Pilot Training reunion in Las Vegas (2012) along with his wife Maryland. Both are great American patriots. I am so incredibly happy also to know Rick had a great and beautiful life with wife Maryland along with”
