She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Mills and Pearl Turman Mills; her husband Jerry C. Powers; and her siblings, Stella Hucks, Erleen Perkins, C. W. Mills, Jr. and Aurelia Lewis.
She is survived by: her children, Joan Bishop, Jill McGee (Don), Jan Long and Cliff Powers (Meredith); her sisters, Sue Sherrill and Carolyn Mills of Mooresville; her grandchildren, Amber Bishiop (Pamela), Allyson McGee, Chloe Hillinger (Chad), Hannah Powers and Graham Powers; and her great grandchildren, Ayden, Isaac, Sophie and Olivia.
