He was predeceased by: his father Charles Henry "Hank" Mathis; and his sister Diane Mathis. He is survived by: his mother Elizabeth Jane "Bettye" Mathis of Mooresville, NC; his brothers, Stephen Mathis of Mukilteo, WA and David Mathis of Mooresville, NC; his nieces, Jennifer Richardson, Melanie Groody of Mooresville, NC and Amanda Morgan of Washington, DC; his great-nephews, Michael Graham and Nickolas Riddle; and his great-niece Kaitlyn Baxley of Mooresville, NC..
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF), a cause close to Buddy's heart.
