He was predeceased by: his parents, George Pitman and Susie McKinney Pitman; and his wife Joann Pruitt Pitman. He is survived by: his son Rex Pitman (Maudie) of Diana, WV; his sister Mary Young of Marion, NC; his grandchildren, Rex Pitman, Jr., Abigail Oliver and Shannon Oliver; his stepgrandson Bobby Gillis; and his great grandchildren, Hannah, Karlie, Karter, Levi, Hudson, Taylor, Serenity and Kayden.
