He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Lee Childers and Robena Munday Childers; his wife Brenda Sue Brooks Childers; and his brothers, Charles "Rusty" Childers and Harry "Bob" Childers, Jr..
He is survived by: his children, Mark Childers (Cindy) and Mandi Moser (Kevin); his grandchildren, Brock, Blake, Brady Childers, Arlie Fortenbury (Matt), Mallie Jarrett, Jackson and Lauren Moser; and his siblings-in-law, Shirley Childers, Bobbie Childers, Myra Kelly (Colin) and Dwaine Brooks (Tonda). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
