She was predeceased by: her husband Morris Graham Johnston; and her brothers, Bob of Kannapolis, Bill of Kannapolis, Linn Brown of Kannapolis and Harold Brown of Landis.
She is survived by: her sons, Michael G. Johnston (Brenda) of Mooresville and Donald Linn Johnston of Mooresville; her siblings, Mabel Brown Morgan, Nell Brown Seaford, Rachel Brown Richie, Peggy Brown Smith and Gene Brown (Phyllis) of Kannapolis; her grandchildren, Melissa Johnston Barrett of Mooresville, Kristie Johnston Hammonds (Chad) of Gate City, VA and Major Michael G. Johnston, Jr. (Danielle) of Annapolis Junction, MD; and her great grandchildren, Benjamin Johnston Barrett, Andrew Wesley Barrett, Ashlyn Brooke Hammonds and Kinslee Grace Hammonds. She is also survived by children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
