She was predeceased by: her parents, George Henry Grady Thomason and Rose Ellen "Bessie" Thomason; her husband Oscar Samuel Sanders, Jr.; and her siblings, Stella Thomason Morrow, Jim "Buster" Thomason, Sarah Thomason Gaines, Nellie Thomason Cato, Levi "Buddy" Thomason, Dovie Jean Thomason Walker and Franklin Thomason.

She is survived by: her siblings, Rebecca Thomason Lowery of Salisbury and George Thomason of Union Mills; her niece Brenda Ellen Gaines; and also Margaret. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
