He was predeceased by: his father Rev. Joseph Louis Griggs, Sr.. He is survived by: his wife Ruth Marie Griggs; his children, Joseph "Jay" Lewis Griggs, III and Dawn Marie Tuggle (Joey); and his granddaughters, Ashleigh Tuggle and Nicole Tuggle.
