It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joseph John Merola of Mooresville, North Carolina, born in Plainfield, New Jersey, who passed away on August 28, 2023, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis J. Merola and Elina Viotto Merola; and his grandsons, Bradley Martin and Brandon Sanders. He is survived by: his wife Sandra Goforth Merola; his children, Allison Pawloski (Marty), Heather Fuenzaliada (Rob), Amy Martin Spencer (Brandon) and Roger Ferguson, Jr. (Missy); his siblings, Louie Merola and Angela Wilson (Richard); and his niece Meagan Wilson (Bill). He is also survived by eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren.
