He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Christie and Margaret Brown Christie; his son Nick Heath; and his sister Faye Jones. He is survived by: his wife Mary Kathleen Hardin Christie; his sons, Tim Heath (Joann) and Joe Christie, Jr.; his brother Walter "Frankie" Christie; and his grandchildren, Jason Heath, Stephanie Huffman, Heather Hamrick, Serena Christie and Nick Heath, Jr.. He is also survived by 11 great grandchildren.
