It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jay Ambrose Parker (Mooresville, North Carolina), born in Taylorsville, North Carolina, who passed away on August 21, 2023, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Franklin Earl Parker and Virginia Gains Parker; his siblings, Cecil Parker, Marcell Moore, Pauline Poor, Mary Lee Beckham and Lucille McFee; and his wives, Retha Kerley Parker and Charlotte Dawkins Parker.
He is survived by: his son Jerry Parker of Forest City, NC.; his sisters, Margie Morrison (Donald) of Sylvia, NC and Phyllis Henry (Chris) of York, SC.; his stepchildren, Janie Stephens (Mike) of Mooresville, NC, Joe Van Faires of Hickory Grove, SC, Freddie Faires (Deborah) of Hickory Grove, SC and Jimmy Faires of Statesville, NC; and his stepgreat-grandson Charlie Faires.
