He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Simmons and Anna Ruth Simmons; his siblings, Franklin Simmons, June Bebensee (Frank), Virginia Swezy (Robert), Elaine Box (Ralph) and Doris Gilbert Seeley (Roland); his former wife MaryAnn; his wife Florence; and his granddaughter Nina.
He is survived by: his children, Jeanne Kleca (Joseph) of Bethlehem, PA, Jimmy Simmons (Dawn) of Mooresville, NC and Amy Ciccone (Gene) of Honesdale, PA; and his grandchildren, Tricia (Tim), Driscoll (NC), Audra (Jarrod), Schwartz (AZ), Melissa Masters Sprinkle (VA), Jamie Simmons (Trey Bennett), Mindy (Phil), Skelton (PA), Kyle Simmons (NC), Amanda (Eric), Quinn (NJ) and RJ Ciccone (PA). He is also survived by eleven great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
