He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Bentley Compton and Flossie Troutman Compton; his wife Lib; his siblings, Robert Compton, Herbert Compton, Ike Compton, Evelyn Sprinkle and Ada Horton; his son Michael Leazer; and his grandson Doug Leazer.

He is survived by: his former wife Sarah Elizabeth Nantz Compton; his sister Jeanne Compton; his sons, Fred Leazer (Brenda) and Kenny Leazer; his daughter-in-law Candy Leazer; his daughter Rachael Freeman (Jay) of Leesville, SC.; and his grandchildren, Angela McConnell, Debbie Leazer, Stacey Leazer (Ashleigh), Kevin Dancy, Jonathan Freeman (Kelly) of Cayce, SC, Neal Leazer (Teresa) of Cary, NC, Cassie Leazer, Sally Leazer (Chris) and Jeffrey Leazer (Mandi).
