He was predeceased by: his father Ulysses S. Grant Morton; his children, Jackie, Terry and Keven; and his brothers, Bob Morton (Betty) and Jimmy D. Morton (Cathy).
He is survived by: his wife Hilda Lyles Morton; his siblings, Alvie Ray Morton (Sue) of Louisiana and Sharon Ingold (Kenny) of South Carolina; his stepsons, Chris Nesbit (Michelle) and Brent Lipe (Tiffany); his daughters, Diane, Bonnie and Angela; his daughter-in-law Debbie; and his grandchildren, Allison Nesbit, Katherine Lipe and Nolan Lipe. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or Trinity Baptist Church, Mooresville.
