He is survived by: his wife Barbara Roberts Rachels; his children, Gayle Rachels and Denise Rachels Short (Patrick); his brother Earl Singleton (Brenda); his grandchildren, Austen Gutierrez (Jocelyn), Corie Gutierrez, Zane Short and Julian Short; his nephew Chip Singleton; his niece Dacia Hargrove; and his sister-in-law Judy Heyer (Jim).
