He was predeceased by: his mother Juanita Stone Wayne; and his sons, Derrick and Nicholas. He is survived by: his father Claude Delmar Wayne, Sr. of Davidson; his wife Nina Phillips Wayne; his son Edward Jesse Wayne; his adoptive daughter Chanda Lowder Simmons; his grandchildren, Adam, Jesse, Taylor and Tori; his great grandchildren, Myla and Rowan; and his siblings, Sylvia Kincaid, Eric Wayne and Keith Wayne.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Childrens Hospitals.
