He was predeceased by: his father William Calvin Shope. He is survived by: his mother Genevieve Shope; his wife Susan Bell Shope; his daughters, Lorrie Greene Toni Shope (Jim) and Shannon Parton (Jeremy); his siblings, Carolyn Stamey, Donna Fowler, Sheila King and Larry Shope; his grandchildren, Matthew, Zachary, Sawyer Greene, Liam Nations, Ellie and Kimsey Parton; his sister-in-law Judy Rose; and his nephew Martin Rose. He is also survived by many other nieces and nephews, friends, and Moose, his dog.
