He was predeceased by: his parents, Judith Marion Carter (Parsons) and David Spencer Darnstaedt; and his nephew William Miller. He is survived by: his close friend Lori Darnstaedt (Miller); his son Daniel Darnstaedt II (Alexandria); his granddaughters, Valerie and Terra Darnstaedt; his daughter Raegan Olmsted (Andrew Foreman); his brother William Darnstaedt (Tina); his niece Rebecca Miller Duval (Andy); his great-nephew AJ Duval; his niece Jessica Darnstaedt; his brother Robert Carter (Mindy); his nieces, Megan and Carry Carter; his sister-in-law Leanne Gnyp (Mark); his nephews, Matthew Dahlmeyer and Frank Dahlmeyer (Valerie); his great-niece Faye Dahlmeyer; his great-nephew Miles Dahlmeyer; and his brother-in-law Ronnie Miller (Kelly Zito).
