He was predeceased by: his parents, Conard C. Tharpe, Sr. and Mary Ada Johnson Tharpe; his wife Imogene "Gene" Covington Tharpe; and his siblings, Frank Tharpe (Betty), Charlie Tharpe (Nina), Lewis Tharpe (Sue), Susie Poplin (Jack), Ada Lou Dimmette (Charlie), Frances Key (Arlie), Ruth Pardue (Sec), Hope Combs (Hoover) and June Tharpe.
He is survived by: his daughter Ann Schultz (Scott); and his grandson Tyler Schultz.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the First Baptist Church-Mooresville (150 S Church St, Mooresville, NC 28115). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 3:45 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church 150 S Church Street, Mooresville, NC 28115 or Richard's Coffee Shop & Military Museum 165 N Main Street Mooresville, NC 28115.
