He was predeceased by: his mother Martha Heglar Lowrance. He is survived by: his wife Lura Donaldson Dorton; his children, Luann Orbson (Rusty) and Chuck Dorton (Stephanie); his grandchildren, Regan Garris (Brandon), Victoria Epps (Caleb), Rustyn Orbson, Alex Dorton and Mallory Dorton; and his great grandchild Rayden Garris.
Visitation was held on Sunday, April 27th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Cavin-Cook Funeral Home ((Hwy 150), 494 E Plaza Dr, Mooresville, NC 28115). A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 28th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the Centenary Global Methodist Church (620 Centenary Church Rd, Mt Ulla, NC 28125).
