He was predeceased by: his parents, Offie Benfield and Hazel Starnes Benfield; his grandson Brent Medlin; and his brother Joel Benfield. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Murray Benfield; his children, Tammy B. Medlin, Crystal B. Little (Billy) and Mike Benfield (Nikki); his stepsons, Dale Christie and Robert Christie; his sisters, Phyliss Harrison, June Benfield and Sissy Fries; his grandchildren, Lacy Hoffman (Nick), Chase Medlin (Alaina), Taylor Little, Trent Little, Tanner Benfield, Drew Benfield, Carly Benfield and Caden Benfield; and his stepgrandchildren, Haley Christie, Abby Christie, Aaron Christie, Lucas Christie and Lindsay Christie. He is also survived by one great grandchild and seven step great grandchildren.
