He was predeceased by: his parents, John Chester Johnson and Lois Renegar Thompson; his brothers, Rollie Johnson and Donnie Johnson; and his son-in-law Darin Alexander.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Branyon; and his children, Marty Johnson (Sherri) of Knoxville, TN, Sandy Cox (Ron) of Mooresville, NC, Chris Johnson (Ann) of Charlotte, NC and Wendy Alexander Shinn (Jamie) of Mt. Ulla, NC.. He is also survived by his thirteen grandchildren and his nine great-grandchildren.
