With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Calvin Tilden Shinn Jr. of Mooresville, North Carolina, who passed away on May 4, 2023 at the age of 98. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parent Bertie Shinn; and his siblings, Paul, Clyde Shinn, Lois Sigmon, Bertie Masters and Ruth Shinn.
He is survived by: his wife Lorene Oliphant Shinn; his children, Terry Shinn (Cynthia) and Cindy Pardew (Terry); his grandchildren, Kristin Faulkner (Travis), Amy Smith (Tim), Bo Shinn (Gina), Abby Ott (Daniel) and Anna Whisenant (Kyle); and his great grandchildren, Tanner Smith, Raleigh Faulkner, Kalli Faulkner, Landis Smith, Benjamin Ott, Luke Faulkner, Myers Ott, Ava Whisenant, Lucy Wren Faulkner, Nora Jane Ott, Maisie Whisenant, Hunter Shinn and Tyler Shinn.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the W.G. (Bill) Hefner VA Medical Center (1601 Brenner Avenue, Voluntary Services Bldg 6 Rm. 110, Salisbury, NC 28144) or the American Cancer Society.
