Ann Elsie James Obituary

Ann Elsie (Waitt, Babcock) James of Hickory, NC, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2019. She was 80 years old.
She was born in Matawan, NJ on March 19, 1939. She lived in the New Jersey – New York area most of her life. In 2002 she moved to Tampa, Florida, then in 2005 she settled in North Carolina.
Ann had worked in data entry for ADP and Arnold's Bakery before her retirement. She enjoyed being with her friends and family, playing with her pet Border Collie "Kelly" and singing with her beautiful soprano voice in the church choir for many years.
She is predeceased by her father, Floyd Robert Waitt Sr. (d. 1949), her mother, Margaret Rita (McDonald) Berger (d. 1996), her step-father, Lester David Berger, Sr. (d. 1995) and her brother, Floyd R. Waitt, Jr. (d. 2016). Surviving are her children, Glenn and Nancy, her grandchildren, Elizabeth, Andrew, Kenneth and Serena, and her great-granddaughters Evalyn and Reagan. A 3rd great-granddaughter is due in in June.
A memorial service will be Saturday, April 6th at 4pm, at St. Patrick's Episcopal Church in Mooresville, NC.
