He is survived by: his wife Beverley Bradshaw Akers; his daughters, Mindy Akers (Mike Hedl) of Surf City and Jennifer Smart (John) of Boiling Springs; his sister Shirley Mansch of Chicago; his grandchildren, Sierra Smart (Dakotah), Shane Bircheat, Devin Bircheat, Tyler Smart and Jack Smart; and his great grandchild Weston Smart.
