It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Larry Powell of Mooresboro, North Carolina, who passed away on February 2, 2025, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Horace Powell and Jeanette Robbs Powell; and his siblings, Warren, Perry, Donald, Johnny, Jerry, Michael Powell, Madge McCurry, Thelma Harris and June Edwards.
He is survived by: his son Jamie Powell (Lisa) of Mooresboro; his sisters, Debbie Moose (Bill) of Statesville and Rhonda Beheler of Forest City; his stepgrandchildren, Hayden McKinney (Taylor) and Max McKinney; his great grandchild Oliver McKinney; and his pets, Jake and Brownie. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 1:15 PM at the Florence Baptist Church (201 S Broadway St, Forest City, NC 28043). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the same location.
