James Alexander McNair Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Alexander McNair of Montreat, North Carolina, born in Laurinburg, North Carolina, who passed away on January 31, 2024 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Franklin McNair, Jr. and Martha Fairley McNair; his siblings, Jane McNair Bell and John F. McNair III; and his wife Marion Hays McNair.
He is survived by: his children, Jane McNair Marr (Albert) of Wilmington, NC and Alex Fairley McNair (Mary John) of Greenville, SC; and his grandchildren, Stewart A. Marr, Hays W. Marr, Walter M. Marr and Mary Elizabeth McNair. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
He and Marion were founding members of the RSVP Supper Club which continues to this day.
