He was predeceased by: his parents, Otho Howey and Ona Lee Price Howey; his wife Jean Cynthia Howey; and his children, Cynthia Howey and Olin Samuel Howey, Jr..

He is survived by: his grandson Matthew Blake Howey (Amanda); and his great grandchild Tanner Howey. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
