She was predeceased by: her parents, Elliot Mobley and Mary Jane Jeter. She is survived by: her husband William; her son Bruce Jeter; her grandsons, Bruce Keanu and Jalen Jeter; her brothers, Heawatha Sanders and David (Miriam Sanders); and her aunt Elizabeth Jeter. She is also survived by many nephews, nieces and cousins.
