With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Mary McAfee (Monroe, North Carolina), born in Oxford, North Carolina, who passed away on April 19, 2025 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though her name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Mary leaves upon the hearts of her loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of her spirit and the richness of her legacy.
She is survived by: her children, Helen of Monroe, Cynthia (Miles) of Charlotte, James Jr. (Joan) of Monroe and Anita of Charlotte; her brother Joseph Jr. (Rose) of Arlington; and her siblings-in-law, Kenyon McAfee (Cheryl) of District Heights, MD, Valerie Hardy (Greg) of Clinton, MD and Hattie Royster of Rahway, NJ.. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 25th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Black's Memorial Presbyterian Church (509 Parker St, Monroe, NC 28110).
