She was predeceased by: her parents, John Hinson and Alma Green Hinson; her husband Horace Eugene Helms; her son Donald E. Helms; and her siblings, Estelene Latour, Lawrence Hinson, Colon Hinson and Betty Rorie.
She is survived by: her sons, Wayne Helms (Sheila) of Monroe, Doug Helms (Debra) of Waxhaw and Ricky Helms (Christina) of Waxhaw; her daughter-in-law Jackie Helms; her sister Margaret Hinson Melton; her sister-in-law Janice Hinson; her grandchildren, Christy Helms, Daniel Helms (Sarah), Emerald Richar (Rocky), Myles Helms (Cara), Kaitlin Helms Wolf (US), Matthew Wolf and Casey Helms (Lauren); and her great grandchildren, Kiersten Helms, Cooper Helms, Raegan Richar, Kinsley Richar, Blythe Richar, Jaxson Helms, Tate Helms and Gunner Wolf.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to Mt. Carmel Church Ladies Group where she was a life-long member, 1712 Carmel Church Road, Monroe, NC 28112.
