She was predeceased by: her parents, Rex S. Smathers, Sr. and Essie Mae Meadows Smathers; her siblings, Margaret Smathers Poor, Marvin Smathers and Rex Smathers, Jr.; her daughter Melissa Lynn McCurry; and her spouse Thomas O. McCurry.
She is survived by: her son David Scott McCurry (Jill); her grandsons, Thomas and Matthew McCurry; and her sister-in-law Cutine "Teenie" Smathers. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
