He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Betty Floyd Griffin (Aldridge) and Tommy Parker Griffin; his wife Joan Pressley Griffin; his children, Ashley (Jonathan Warren) of Lenexa, Kansas, Dr. Tommy Griffin (Heidi) of Blountville, Tennessee, Elizabeth Morris (Trevor) of Matthews and Brooke Helms (Jonah) of Monroe; his siblings, Penny Boyd (Tommy) and Richard Griffin (Donna); and his grandchildren, Thatcher, Jansen and Warren.

Memorials may be made to Maple Grove Baptist Church in Weddington, NC where he was a faithful member or Faith Baptist Church in Blountville, TN, where his son Tommy is the pastor.
