He is survived by: his daughter Kathy Freeman Ellis (Jason); his fiancé Terry Luckadoo; his grandchildren, Hannah Leigh Ellis, Jimmy Ray Ellis, Marie Solis (Francisco) and Brandon Newcomer; his great grandchild Koraline Solis; his siblings, Gurney Freeman (Linda), Danny Freeman and Darlene Sanders (Terry); and his nieces and nephews, Ronnie Lee Freeman (Brandy), Tony Sanders (Amy), Sherri Sanders, Derrick Lewis, Suzy Racicot (Bryan), Jason Jones, Wendy Freeman Williamson and Brandy Harris Benson.
