She was predeceased by: her parents, Martin Smith and Bessie Smith; her husband Rial Omega Purnell; and her siblings, Verna Jones, Willy Ruth Presson, Christine Helms, Elvie HInson, Becky Handsel and Myron Smith.
She is survived by: her children, Lynn Purnell (Donna) of Charlotte and Beverly Kranitzky (Chuck) of Mt. Juliet, TN.; her granddaughters, Whitney Combs (Robert), Katelyn Dixon (Brent) and Kathryn Galuppo (Mike); and her great grandchildren, Alex Kranitzky (Beth), Stewart Kranitzky (Madison), Brian Kranitzky, Wilder, Walden Galuppo and Ellie Kratnitzky.
