He is survived by: his sister Joan Rushing Maddox (James); and his nieces and nephews, Ken Rushing (Brenda), Deb Pitt (Bryan), Danny Rushing (Deanna), Randy Rushing (Andra), Lynn Woody and Kim Collins (Dwayne).
A graveside service was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Gaston Memorial Park (1200 S New Hope Rd, Gastonia, NC 28054).
In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to Samaritan's Purse, PO Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607.
