He is survived by: his children, Michael Timothy Helms (Robin) and Lorrie Helms Gettys (James); his stepdaughter Sheila Alford (Thomas); and his sisters, Mary Helms and Johnie Paxton. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
