He is survived by: his wife Joan Flowe Helms; his sons, Rick Helms (Brenda) and Jeff Helms (Nanda); his stepdaughters, Cindy Sherrin and Melanie Sherrin; and his grandchildren, Pam Trull (Jay), Ashley Griffin (Jimmy), Krisie Windham (Cain), Katie Comer (Jeremy), Adrian Helms (TJ), David Norman, Brad Helms (Kendall), Jeremy Thomas and Eric Thomas. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
