It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Gilbert Hall Efrid Jr. (Monroe, North Carolina), born in Charlotte, North Carolina, who passed away on September 19, 2024, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Juanita Meares and Gilbert Hall Efird; his wife JoAnn Efird; and his sons, Gilbert Hall Efird III and Michael Jordan Efird.
He is survived by: his sisters, Mary Efird Kepley of Winston Salem and Juanita Efrid of Charlotte; his stepson Fred Motley III of Shelby; his cousin John E. Efrid Jr. of Monroe; his pet Tina; and his caregivers, Kelly Bednarik and Lee Kiser. He is also survived by three granddaughters, three great-grand grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 26th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Central United Methodist Church (801 S Hayne St, Monroe, NC 28112).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the Humane Society of Union County, 4015 Waxhaw Highway, Monroe, NC 28112.
