He was predeceased by: his brother J. Carroll Taylor; his siblings-in-law, Verna Mae Taylor and Ray Purser; and his son-in-law Gaynor Strand. He is survived by: his wife Linda Melton Taylor; his children, Anita Strand Drye (Bobby) and Steven "Stevie" Taylor; his granddaughter Shelby Lynn Johnson (Michael); his great grandchildren, Damon, Cayden and Riley; his sister Phyllis Purser; and his sisters-in-law, Libby Taylor, Joyce Rushing and Pat Gray. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and special friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Hospice of Union County, 700 W. Roosevelt Blvd., Monroe, NC 28110.
