He was predeceased by: his parents, William Alfred and Alice Brooks Baucom; and his wife Jean Mullis Baucom. He is survived by: his children, David, Teresa and Amy "Katie"; and his grandchildren, Gina Rushing and Shannon Lovell. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
