She was predeceased by: her parent Velestes "Vo" Newton; and her brother Russell Newton. She is survived by: her mother Grace Horton Newton; her siblings, Faye Holloway Birchfield, Carl, Garry and Alan; her aunt Martha Jane Horton Buchanan; and her sister-in-law Margaret Helms (Don).
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 23rd 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Chapel of Gordon Funeral Service (1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112).
