He was predeceased by: his wife Evelyn Helms Lomax. He is survived by: his sons, Charles, Jr. (Pamela) and Philip (Karen); his grandchildren, Addie Phifer (Dustin), Tristan Lomax, Amanda Lomax and Emily Gilmore (Matthew); and his great grandchildren, Blake Phifer and Jamie Gilmore.
